2020 was indeed a strange year. Whilst the start of the year brought in a lot of hardship in the hearts of Australians with the deadly fires, the events industry felt the blow of it in various levels. Just as we were thinking we were out of the bucket and ready to roll, Covid-19 came at full effect. With the lock down, our entire event industry collapsed. From the food truck perspective we had everything cancelled for the next few months. All our plans thrown out the bucket. Just like everyone in the industry we felt the full weight of it from having booked out events the entire month to see everything cancelled within 2-3 days.
Whilst the lock down came in to full effect with it all it’s confusion and fear. We knew that we couldn’t let this get to us. So we took off our food truck pants off and went into full planning for our shop. We felt all your love and support over the last 5 years so we wanted to put everything back into the shop and create a space where everyone will feel relaxed and the food just as a good (and even better and more variety!!) as we did with the truck. Walls built, wall paper torn down, fresh paint and shiny new kitchen equipment.
But tying this together is our vision to bring you the best we can offer.
So how long now? We’re almost there. Just a few smaller touches as we too wait patiently for things to smooth the delays caused by Covid-19.
We can’t wait to be back. To cook some good food for you. To share some laugh with you. To connect with you. We miss it too. And we really miss going all over Melbourne and feeding you all.
